Radio Lagelu FM (96.7 FM) made history as the first truly indigenous, people-centered radio station in Ibadan, launching on 1 December 2015 under the commission of Governor Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi.

Established by West Midlands Communications Ltd. as a sister station to Splash FM, its creation was driven by a desire to fill a long-standing void in authentic local broadcasting. Its name, Lagelu, honors the legendary founder of Ibadan, symbolizing cultural pride and leadership.

Lagelu FM distinguishes itself through programming delivered in Yoruba and Pidgin English, resonating deeply with the grassroots audience. It blends entertainment, traditional music, news, talk shows, and cultural themes to reconnect listeners with heritage and modern aspirations.

Today, its signal extends across the Southwest — including Ibadan, Oyo, Ogbomosho, Abeokuta, Osogbo, Ilesha, Ijebu Ode, and Akure — confirming its role as a leading regional broadcaster.
